Restorative Dentistry
Resin (tooth-colored) Fillings
In our offices we offer tooth colored fillings when the situation and oral environment allows. These fillings are extremely life-like and new materials are very durable, offering many years of longevity and seal against new bacterial decay when properly cared for with good oral hygiene habits.
Bite Adjustments and Occlusal Equilibration
As time progresses, a patient's oral habits, diet, chewing patterns, and tooth shape may lead to alterations in their bite. These alterations can cause undesireable function of the teeth and sometimes undesireable wear of teeth. These changes can sometimes be corrected with small adjustments to the outer surfaces of the teeth. The adjustments can result in increased longevity of existing and future restorations as well as the relief of jaw pain in some circumstances. Erosion and abrasion of front teeth that have resulted from these factors can also often be corrected with small, minimally invasive fillings that prevent further damage to the teeth.
Root Surface Fillings
Root sensitivity and unsightly root decay often walk hand in hand with advanced gum recession. These areas usually are good environments to place mineral-releasing tooth shade filling materials that help protect this fragile portion of the tooth and improve the look of this condition when indicated. As a result, these wedge-shaped, dark, and sensitive areas of the tooth can be healthy and pain free once again.
